More than a community center

Financial Agency for 50+ Women

ACF’s new community center in Zawiya Ahansal will house a women-led cultural and hospitality space creating long-term economic opportunity and sustainable income for local women.

Shaped by residents, traditional craftsmen, and ACF volunteers, the 6,000-square-foot (600-square-meter) space is built with architectural traditions and local materials rooted in the cultural heritage of Morocco’s Atlas Mountains.

The center is designed as a place where locals and visitors will gather to learn, teach, cook, create, and generate income to support local families.

  • Set deep within Morocco’s Atlas Mountains, the Zawiya Ahansal Valley has quietly become a destination for affluent, adventure-driven travelers. Drawn to the beauty of the M'Goun UNESCO Global Geopark and the remote, culturally rich landscapes, visitors arrive with both curiosity and spending power.

  • Since 2019, ACF’s Women’s Empowerment Program has supported women through literacy and numeracy education, rights awareness, confidence building, cross-cultural exchange, financial management, and vocational training in cooking, weaving, and embroidery—while building trust and support within families and the broader community.

  • The Atlas Women’s Collective refers to all the spaces and income generating programs for women. It will include a community kitchen, gathering spaces, artisan market, educational programming areas, and a guest apartment - all generating sustainable income for women participating in ACF’s Women’s Empowerment Program and for the Atlas Cultural Foundation to sustain its programs.

  • Financial Agency for 50 Women in a women-led space where they will earn income as decision-makers, hosts, artisans, entrepreneurs, and leaders helping shape the future of their community.

Long-Term Programming Sustainability through hospitality and cultural programming that reinvests income into ACF’s mission.
